An Overcomer

John 16:33 says…”I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

It’s clearly stated in the Bible that while we’re here in this sinful world, we will have troubles in life. And these troubles lead to some sleeping problems.

According to recent statistics there are over 70 million Americans suffer from disorders of sleep and wakefulness. And 20-40% of all adults have insomnia in the course of the year.

Surely, more and more people are having problems sleeping and there are various causes of it.

And to most people the natural remedy is to take some medicine to help them sleep better.

Yes, Science is important and so are doctors, and pharmacist.

But I believe that the root cause of most sleeping problems is the lack of peace.

When we accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour the Bible says troubles will not go away…

…but instead we will have a super natural power to overcome any obstacles by connecting to God’s power through Jesus Christ.

Jesus said…”But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

By tapping into God’s power through our Lord, we will have peace in times of adversity.

One of my favourite songs of Hillsong United is entitled “Still” and the lyrics says….

“When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with You above the storm
Father You are king over the flood
I will be still and know You are God”

Whatever problems you have right now, you’ll soar like an eagle; you’ll fly over it and will overcome it.

The key to sleeping better is to meditate God’s word before you go to bed. Say a prayer and recite your memorized Bible verse several times.

By doing this, you’ll not only sleep better but you’ll also feel better the following morning.
